Community Education Presentations

  1. Our presentations are an hour in length and can take place at a location of your choosing or, for groups of less than 30, at SAC.
  2. A fee structure, associated with most of our presentations, is based on a sliding scale. For presentations outside of Davidson County, a mileage fee is added to the base cost of the presentation.
  3. Our presentations can be tailored to fit your needs, and we are always willing to work with you to develop appropriate material for your group.

Some of our most requested presentations include:

  1. Signs and Symptoms of Sexual Abuse
    An overview for parents or educators on recognizing common signs and symptoms of sexual abuse; it also covers ways to address the issue in the best ways possible for the child
  2. Understanding Child Sexual Abuse
    An overview for parents of preschool-aged children about how to recognize common signs and symptoms of child sexual abuse, how to spot potential perpetrators and the long-term effects of child sexual abuse
  3. The Truth About Rape
    A presentation for women about the specifics of rape and sexual assault, what to do in the event of a rape or sexual assault, how to help a friend or loved one who has been victimized
  4. A Safe Place to Worship
    A presentation geared toward educating church workers and volunteers about how to prevent child sexual abuse, how to recognize the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse and how to help those who have been victimized
  5. Voice of the Victim
    A presentation to help shed light on the after effects of a sexual assault or rape from the perspective of the victim, and how getting the right help can help a victim return to a life of normalcy after rape and sexual assault
  6. The Truth about Sexual Assault
    A presentation for men to educate about the legal definition of rape and sexual assault, laws regarding rape and sexual assault, and suggestions for stopping sexual assault before it happens
  7. My Child was Sexually Abused, Now What?
    A presentation for non-offending parents or foster parents of children who have been sexual abused, how to help in the recovery of the child, and how to understand your feelings about the abuse and the offender
  8. Pornography and Sexual Assault
    The impact of pornography has on social norms and the links between pornography and sexual assault will be explored. Media literacy and pornographic images will be discussed. How the media effects self esteem will be a focus of this workshop.
