Safe@Last's ability to effectively teach children, while satisfying the requirements of parents, teachers and administrators, makes it a leader in child safety curriculum. The program is -

  1. Proven effective
  2. Widely accepted
  3. Compliant with mandates and regulations
  4. Easy to implement
  5. Priced affordably
  6. Reusable

Proven Effective In The Classroom

  1. The curriculum receives and tracks continuous feedback from students and teachers.
  2. End of the year testing by a 20% sampling of students shows 70% mastery of milestones.
  3. There are significant increases in disclosures by children after taking the class.
  4. Outcome-based independent research at Tennessee State University has confirmed overall increases in knowledge of up to 40%.

Overall acceptance by faculty, administrators, counselors and parents.

  1. Educators understand the teaching format based on the effective comprehension assessments of Bloom's Taxonomy and the program's incorporation of the principles of Interdisciplinary Learning.
  2. Administrators feel secure in knowing a curriculum is in place that helps protect children in their schools.
  3. Parents feel better knowing their children are learning how to protect themselves against unwelcome situations. School counselors participate in presenting the program for their students and become more effective in their roles as trusted adults within the school.

Compliance

Safe@Last was designed to teach children how to protect themselves for life. You will find it also exceeds the requirements established by Safe and Drug Free Schools and the National Council of Bishops' Charter Mandate on the Protection of Children and Young People.

Easy to implement

The Safe@Last curriculum is an easy-to-follow curriculum with lesson plans for instructors. A daylong in-service training is offered in the fall to discuss curriculum presentation guidelines and techniques, using the instructor manual as a reference piece.

Pricing

The cost of implementing the program is based on the number of schools in the system and the number of students participating. There are several state and federal government programs with earmarked funds for Child Safety Programs for which the Safe@Last curriculum is in compliance.

Reusable

The Safe@Last school kit is an all-inclusive K-6 education package designed to be a one-time purchase for a school. Each kit contains an instructor's manual, age appropriate videos, roll playing cards, skits, flash cards, CD and props (i.e. phones, a puppet and bells) that can be used to teach children for years to come.

Every child receives a workbook to reinforce the lessons learned. The workbooks are required and purchased annually by the school.
